In 2013 Niks Tea was established creating a range of loose leaf teas which I initially sold through famer’s markets and local food stores. To expand my business & increase product awareness my Small Business Advice adviser helped me clarify and prioritise objectives by reviewing my business, financial and marketing plans offering sensible and practical business advice. This gave me focus and we set achievable targets. Mentoring at this early stage was invaluable as it set challenges but also showed me how it was possible to achieve these. I often recall some of the advice from my Small Business Mentor from those early days that assisted building a solid foundation for Niks Tea.
Over the past number of year’s business has grown from selling at farmer’s markets to having my products available for sale nationwide in Tesco, Supervalu, Pharmacy Groups, Health Stores & Fine food stores. We also expanded our reach supplying Cafes & restaurants with a new foodservice range. Currently I have 3 full & 2 part-time staff and am constantly looking at way to improve my products and business management while constantly looking out for new opportunities
